This is a deck of cards with Christmas movies on it. That's it. It's not a game, it's not a "thing". It' just a buncha cards and each one has a Christmas movie on it. Clark from Superfun Games made it.
You can get the deck by making it yourself. All the print-ready cards are on Github. Why would you get them? I don't know, if you don't get it, you don't get it.
I typed out some of the list by hand, and used ChatGPT to round out the rest. Once I had my movie list, I used ChatGPT to gather the ratings, years, etc.
I used Figma to make a base card component, then used Contento to insert all my spreadsheet data into the card component array. Then I saved all generated cards as PNGs. Voila.
And the website? I had ChatGPT write my list of img tags, and used Tailwind for a copy/paste layout (including the scroll snap swiper thing). It even wrote the JS for this FAQs expanded thing. Neat!
Well no, but Home Alone 1 and 2 are cornerstones of my childhood, and part 6 (Home Sweet Home Alone) was kinda fun, so they're all here. Deal with it?
My uncle showed me T2 one Christmas Eve, when I was way too young (we've all got that uncle, right?). I don't remember exactly how old I was, but the movie hit home release when I was 8, and I remember his VHS was recorded from an HBO "premiere".
Now I try to watch it every Christmas Eve. I'm probably up into the high double digits. Recently got to watch it with the in-laws, who weren't familiar, and it was a big hit. Give it a try, everyone needs some a ridiculous Christmas tradition.
